If you look up into the sky 1 billion light years away, you will realize that are over 1 million stars. But you don't have to look any further then Commerce, Georgia to see the brightest Star. Channing Anderson better known as Commerce15 on JAMOJA is a two sport athlete at Commerce High School. The Football & Basketball star, is one of the most exciting players in Georgia. Channing is the Quarterback for The Commerce High Tigers, who started playing football thanks to his friends advice, and now can't stay away from the game. "My friends kept pushing me to play football and I finnaly gave in, and now im hooked." Says Channing, who's favorite player is Pat White from West Virginia.

 

Like Pat White, Channings favorite part of the game is stepping up as a quarterback and marching his team down the field for victory. "Before every snap I usuually do a rundown of the play before I start my candence, so I will know who is open and which hole I need my fullback to run in, or what hole I need to run in." Says Channing, who learnt to study football on his on by watching a lot of game and taking mental notes of the little moves players did to be succesful.

 

Channing is a great team player, and a hard worker who wants nothing more then his team to do great. "My ultimate goal is to lead my team to a state championship my junior & senior year." Channings hard work has paid off for him on the field, but it is his athleticism that allows him to make amazing plays. In a game against a team from Athens, Channing broke a long run on a bootleg. Even thou his team just needed a first down, Channings eyes was on the endzone the whole time. When he got the ball, he faked the toss and just saw grass. As he was running he made a strong stiff arm on one person, the another defender came from behind and grabbed his facemask, this did not stop him. Somehow Channing spun off the defenders hold at the 20 yard line and managed to run all the way to the 3 yard line. It is Athletic plays like this that make Channing a fan favorite to watch.

 

Being a football & basketball player requires having a lot of discipline. However, becoming a player with Channings magnitude does not happen overnight. He works hard. Channing commits 4 days a week to the weight room to build his speed & strength.

 

In addition, to Channings on field heroics it is his mindset off the field that allows him to thirve. "Off the field I want to be a positive example to younger players." Says Channing, who keeps a positive outlook on life. It is athletes like Channing that make JAMOJA a home to best athletes on and off the field. "JAMOJA is great because of the wide Variety of Athletes" Says Channing, who is a Star among Stars on JAMOJA.

 

So the next time you are driving down I-95 through Georgia, and you see a fast light shoot across your eyes, don't be alarmed that isn't a comet. Thats just Channing Anderson making another out of this world play.
